CineRPG Supports Loneliness Awareness Week 2025
This week, CineRPG proudly joins the national campaign for Loneliness Awareness Week 2025 championed by Marmalade Trust and hundreds of partners across the UK to help reduce the stigma around loneliness and spark empathic conversations about connection, community, and togetherness.
We are delighted to take part in the Bristol launch event, inviting community members to share about their life experiencesand views on this important topic, benefit from the advice and guidance of experts, and take part in a movement that reminds us: loneliness is a natural human emotion we all experience at different moments of our lives.
Why Loneliness Matters to Us
CineRPG was created in the aftermath of the Covid-19 crisis - a time when many individuals with a love for pop culture and community were left with few places to go. Our mission was shaped by the need for meaningful social connection, built around shared passions for films, collaborative game experiences, and creative practice.
Like sport, we believe fandom has the power tounite people from all walks of life, backgrounds, and identities. It's a cultural connector that can lead to real friendships and a lasting sense of belonging.
Taking part in Loneliness Awareness Week is hugely important to us, not only to share our experience as a community interest company, but also to better understand how we can continue to help, get involved, and make a difference in Bristol and the wider region.
This week also gives us a moment to reflect on how we can design and deliver regular, low-pressure eventsfor players who might be feeling specifically isolated or alone.
Random Acts of Connection
Last year’s campaign inspired over 3,000 connection-building activities. These opportunities for togetherness were made possible by the support of countless community organisations, volunteers, and individuals like you.
'So much happens during Loneliness Awareness Week, the only limit is imagination! From coffee mornings and book clubs to walking clubs and art workshops, to neighbourhood bake sales and speed friending.
There are designated chatty tables in cafes and pubs, businesses putting loneliness on their meeting agenda, radio stations having honest and open conversations about loneliness, laughter yoga, swing dancing, shared office lunches and cook-offs.'
This year, the adventure for connection continues - and you can get involved! Starting small by offering a smile to a stranger, a quick chat with a neighbour, asking someone how their day is going… these little things can make a big difference to someone feeling lonely.
Ifyou find yourself in this situation, don't hesite to visit the many sites offering opportunities for a chat and meaningful connect.
