No AI Policy
Protecting Human Creativity. Period.
Effective Date: 07/08/2025
Context
After testing our assumptions about AI/GenAI, we came to the conclusion that the use of this technology is incompatible with the ambitions and values of CineRPG CIC. Instead, we wish to do our utmost to support, empower, and celebrate human artistry and creativity in the face of the risks and hazards such technology represents.
We stand with the fact AI / GenAI should not operate, be used, or be commercialised as a proxy for human creativity and artistry. We strongly condemn the misappropriation of intellectual property at its root mechanism, and further question the use of disruptive technology without consideration for ethical and saveguarding measures as part of global public rollout.
As such, our No AI Policy supersedes our former Ethical AI Policy (July, 2025). This new policy brings more clarity about our position and commitment towards talent-centric collaboration across all aspects of development, now and in the future.
Our No AI Policy has been approved unanimously by the board, and is active immediately.
1. Human Talent is Irreplaceable
TTRPG, like no other creative industries, offers a space where artistic expression can strive. We want to empower our collaborators in a space where they are valued for their artistic vision and hard earned skills, ensure their work is safe and protected, and their contribution paid fairly. As such, we are committed to hiring, promoting, and celebrating artistry and creativity in all aspects of development, production and audience engagement. Our design, writing, visual content, and performance work will be 100% created, delivered, and credited to real people, never by AI.
In addition to these principles, we wish to further advocate for the value and importance of human creativity to the wider public, and continue our work to provide creative practice opportunities to our community members - reducing distance between the artist and the brush at an early stage in life.
2. Discontinuation
The implementation of this new policy gives us the chance to address the question of AI/GenAI at an early stage of organisation development, and to put in place efficient protocols to prevent its use across the business. As from the implementation of this policy, CineRPG no longer uses AI/GenAI. Historical use of the technology was solemnly applied to private, non-commercial, proof-of-concepts for R&D purposes.
3. Ethical Governance and Oversight
Matt Gras, CEO of CineRPG CIC, will serve as the Ethical Technology Lead, with responsibilities focusing on:
. Ensuring compliance with this policy
. Reviewing any potential risk related to third-party tools
. Assessing partnerships for AI dependencies
. Protecting artistic and community values from future AI-related risks
4. Review Cycle
This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if required by technological or regulatory change.
However, we share in confidence our ethical principles and views towards AI/GenAI will remain unchanged.
